Link Monsters take your Duels to a new level of strategy:
Not only will you have to choose when to play your cards, but also where you place them!
Link Monsters start the Duel in your Extra Deck, and you'll Link Summon them to your field by sending face-up monsters you control to the Graveyard; each Link Monster will tell you what kind of monsters you need and exactly how many you'll need to use to summon it.
Link Monsters have no Level or Rank, and they also have no DEF. They can never be face down or in Defense Position; they are always face up in Attack Position! The direction of the arrows on Link Monsters is as important as their effect, as they point to the Monster Zones on the field that are linked to them. A Link Monster can, for example, gain ATK for each monster in a linked zone, or protect the monsters in those zones from destruction.
Link Monsters can also make it possible to control multiple different monsters summoned from the Extra Deck at once! Any adjacent Monster Zone that a Link Monster's arrow points to opens up to new monster Summons from the Extra Deck. Get as many arrows pointing to your own zones as you can, while avoiding pointing to your opponent's zones—this is an important new element of strategy you'll want to master with Starter Deck: Link Attack!
This deck also introduces a new type of monsters that will join the Dragons, Warriors, Magicians, etc. This new type of monster uses current digital technologies and transforms them into Dueling technologies!
